Pemalang Junior High Student Dies After Repeated Bullying, Senior Classmate Named Child in Conflict with Law
A Year 7 student with the initials AAF (13) has died after allegedly being the victim of bullying at SMPN 4 Randudongkal, Pemalang, Central Java. A senior classmate of the victim has now been named as a child in conflict with the law (ABH).
The victim, a resident of Semingkir Village, Randudongkal District, was assaulted on school grounds several times in July 2026. AAF was pronounced dead while receiving medical treatment at hospital on Sunday evening (2/8/2026).
Pemalang Police Chief AKBP Rendy Setia Permana revealed that after examining witnesses and gathering sufficient evidence, his office has named one student, a senior of the victim, as a child in conflict with the law.
“The victim is a Year 7 student, while the suspected ABH is a Year 8 student at the same school,” said AKBP Rendy Setia Permana, as reported by detikJateng on Monday (24/8/2026).
The violence on the school grounds, Rendy said, occurred four times in the same month, namely July 2026, within the school environment.
“There were four locations at the school. The locations were under a tree near the school gate, in front of the Science Laboratory room, in front of the Year 7D classroom and in front of the school toilet,” he explained.
As a result of the repeated assaults, the victim on Sunday (2/8) underwent medical treatment at Randudongkal Community Health Centre, then at Muhammadiyah Mardhatillah Hospital. However, on Sunday evening (2/8) at 7.30 pm Western Indonesia Time, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“The case was then reported to Pemalang Police by the victim’s mother,” said Rendy.
After receiving the report, Pemalang Police conducted a deeper investigation. In fact, 17 witnesses were examined by police, including the victim’s school friends, guidance counsellors, subject teachers and medical personnel.
“From the results of the examination of witnesses and the evidence secured, Pemalang Police have named one child in conflict with the law (ABH),” Rendy added.
