Pelni records 67.5 percent of return passengers by 26 March
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or Pelni has recorded that the implementation of the return flow up to 26 March 2026 has reached 67.5 percent, with a total of 225,898 passengers. “We are optimistic that the number of return passengers will increase as the Pelni Lebaran Transport Homecoming period continues until 6 April 2026,” said Pelni’s Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda to ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday. Ditto stated that the peak of the homecoming flow occurred on H-3 Lebaran or 18 March 2026, with 31,460 passengers. According to Ditto, this year’s peak return flow is occurring on Thursday (2/4) with a projection of 27,009 passengers. “This represents a 1 percent increase compared to the previous year,” said Ditto. Ditto mentioned that Pelni has prepared anticipatory measures to deliver a Comfortable Homecoming Together, starting from strengthening coordination with stakeholders, adding service personnel, and security staff. The company has also ensured that the fleet is seaworthy to maintain smooth passenger travel. “We are monitoring ships, ports, and enhancing cross-stakeholder coordination to ensure everything runs smoothly and with a focus on safety,” said Ditto. In addition, he reminded passengers to always comply with safety protocols on board and maintain cleanliness during the journey. “We always prioritise passenger safety and comfort by implementing ‘safety first’, ‘zero accident’, and ‘service excellent’,” he said.
