Pelni records 30% ticket discount realisation reaching 467,662 passengers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT Pelni (Persero) has recorded the realisation of the 30 per cent sea vessel ticket discount programme during the 2026 Eid transport period reaching 467,662 passengers.
Pelni’s President Director, Tri Andayani, or familiarly known as Anda, stated that the 30 per cent sea transport discount programme had sold out faster than the scheduled timeline.
“The realisation of discounted passengers is 467,662 people, or 105 per cent of the initial projection of discounted passengers at 445,534 people,” said Anda when confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.
She explained that the 30 per cent discount ticket sales had previously been opened since 11 February 2026 for departures from 11 March to 5 April 2026. The government stimulus programme has now been officially closed since Friday (3/4).
Anda elaborated that the passenger realisation exceeding projections was influenced by ticket sales on short routes.
“Alhamdulillah, the 30 per cent transport discount programme provided by the government has received a positive response from the public,” she said.
Anda also added that as of 4 April 2026, the total national ticket sales for the departure period of 11 March to 5 April 2026 reached 487,905 tickets, or 101.8 per cent compared to the same period last year, which was 479,133 tickets.
She expressed thanks to all the public who have utilised the programme.
She also thanked the government, particularly the Ministry of Transportation, which has entrusted the programme to Pelni.
“Pelni will continue to support government policies in providing affordable and quality sea transport access for the Indonesian people,” said Anda.
Anda emphasised that although the number of return flow passengers is starting to decrease, Pelni remains ready to serve all passengers maximally until the Pelni Eid transport period closes on 6 April 2026.
“We hope we can continue to present better, safe, and comfortable services for all customers in the next Eid transport,” said Anda.
