‘In this year’s Lebaran transport (2026), Pelni provides 751,550 tickets,’ said President Director Tri Andayani Anda in a press conference on preparations for Lebaran 1447 Hijriah year 2026 in Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Anda said the Lebaran 1447 Hijriah preparations have been carried out comprehensively to ensure services run safely, orderly, and smoothly.

The peak season is set from 6 March to 6 April 2026, with the peak mudik expected on 18 March and the peak balik on 2 April.

During Lebaran, Pelni will operate a total of 55 ships, comprising 25 passenger ships and 30 intercity (pioneer) ships to service various national routes.

The fleet includes 11 ships with a capacity of 3,000 passengers, 10 ships with 2,000 passengers, nine ships with 1,000, and also ships with a 500 passenger capacity and ro-ro ships.

From the total fleet, seat capacity per departure reaches 56,069 seats ready to serve the surge of passengers during the mudik season.

Overall, Pelni projects Lebaran 2026 passenger numbers to reach 641,025, slightly below last year’s realisation.

More than 300 ports will be visited by Pelni’s 55 ships to reach the archipelago and remote regions of Indonesia.

Furthermore, Anda ensured that the entire fleet is guaranteed to operate at full capacity during the peak season and has completed docking as part of the technical preparations.

In addition, ramp checks were conducted by the Ministry of Transportation to ensure every ship is seaworthy before being operated to serve the public.

Operationally, Pelni also monitors fuel stock to support travel during the Lebaran period. Regular fuel requirements reach 18,000 kilolitres per month, while during the peak season this increases to 22,000 kilolitres.

She emphasised the commitment to delivering the best service even during Ramadan, prioritising passenger safety and comfort.

Pelni hopes that the mudik and balik journeys this year will be safe, secure, and comfortable so that people can reunite with their families in their hometowns.

Through fleet readiness, ticketing, and operational support, Pelni is optimistic that Lebaran 2026 transport can run smoothly and support national mobility to the maximum.
