PELNI Offers 30% Fare Discount for School Holiday Period
PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) is implementing a discount programme on passenger ship tickets during the 2026 school holiday period. The price cut is offered for economy-class passenger tickets as part of the government’s economic stimulus programme. The government is once again providing this economic stimulus through PELNI. With the ticket discount, the public can enjoy sea travel at more affordable rates during the school holiday period. “The government through PELNI is re-introducing the Economic Stimulus Programme in the form of a 30 per cent tariff discount for economy-class passenger tickets,” PELNI wrote in a post on its official Instagram account, cited on Saturday (13/6/2026).

PELNI shared a fare calculation simulation to provide an illustration of the discount amount received by passengers during the 2026 school holiday period. The details are as follows: Base fare: from Rp 251,000 to Rp 175,700 after receiving a 30 per cent discount. Port fee: Rp 47,500 and not subject to a discount. Insurance: Rp 6,000 and not subject to a discount. Total ticket price: from Rp 304,500 to Rp 229,200. PELNI explained that the discount only applies to the base fare component. Port fees and insurance remain charged in accordance with prevailing regulations. In addition, the amount of port fees may differ at each port so the total cost paid by passengers can adjust to the chosen travel route.
