JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) is offering a 20 per cent discount on container cargo rates.

This measure is intended to support the smooth distribution of goods in the post-Eid period.

“This programme applies to reservations made from 27 March to 30 April 2026 and is not tied to the ship’s departure date,” said PELNI Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda in an official statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

He explained that the discount applies only to fleet rates, while handling or loading and unloading fees will follow normal rates at each port.

“The 20 per cent discount programme for container cargo is our strategic step to maintain the stability of cargo transport performance, particularly during the low season period after the Eid homecoming rush,” Ditto said.

Ditto also added that the programme does not apply to empty container shipments, which have their own rate scheme.

“Customers can make reservations directly through MyCargoo on the PELNI Mobile app or by contacting the nearest PELNI branch office,” Ditto added.

Ditto targets this programme to increase the container load factor on passenger ships to at least 70 per cent during the post-Eid period.

“We hope this initiative will encourage an increase in cargo volume and provide convenience for customers in distributing goods to various regions, including 3TP areas,” Ditto emphasised.

The 20 per cent discount programme is offered for regular container cargo ship routes, including KM Dobonsolo, where the discount applies to Voyage 06 with the route Tanjung Priok – Surabaya – Balikpapan – Makassar – Bau-Bau – Ambon – Sorong – Manokwari – Nabire – Serui – Jayapura return.

Meanwhile, Voyage 07 serves the route Tanjung Priok – Surabaya – Makassar – Bau-Bau – Sorong – Manokwari – Biak – Serui – Jayapura return.

Furthermore, KM Dorolonda on Voyage 06 serves the route Surabaya – Balikpapan – Pantoloan – Bitung – Ternate – Ambon – Sorong – Manokwari – Nabire – Serui – Jayapura return.
