Pelni Jakarta encourages public to take advantage of 30 per cent discount on mudik fares

Jakarta — PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) Jakarta branch is inviting the public to take advantage of the discount provided by the government during the mudik and return journey periods for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

“There is a 30 per cent price reduction from the basic tariff for departures from 11 March to 5 April 2026,” said Head of PT Pelni Jakarta Branch Antonius Lumban Gaol in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stated that on Wednesday, the availability of seats for voyages to eastern Indonesia remained available at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta.

“Voyages from Tanjung Priok to Ambon, Makassar and Papua are still available,” said Antonius.

Meanwhile, he noted that voyages to western regions are fully booked as the westbound vessel, KM Gunung Kelud, had already departed on 7 March.

“It will only dock at Tanjung Priok Port again after Eid,” Antonius said.

However, he stated that eastbound voyages during the mudik period remain available, and the public is encouraged to book tickets through official channels.

“There are many ticket purchase channels that can be utilised,” said Antonius.

“We are working with stakeholders in the Tanjung Priok Port area to ensure the success of this year’s mudik and return journeys,” Antonius stated.

Through PT Pelni’s ticket purchase platform during this year’s Eid mudik period, a single economy class passenger ticket from Tanjung Priok Port to Ambon Port on Friday, 20 March 2026 is priced at IDR 580,900, down from the normal price of IDR 808,000.

Passengers will board the KM Labobar vessel at Tanjung Priok Port and spend four days and 15 hours travelling to Ambon Port.
