State-owned shipping company PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) is strengthening its ship agency business by expanding its service coverage to Malaysia. “Ship agency services are one of the strategic business lines that we continue to develop,” said Pelni Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda. He noted that this trust marks an important milestone in expanding Pelni’s agency business network, while reinforcing the company’s capability to provide professional, reliable, and internationally standardised maritime services. In this operation, Pelni acted as the agent for KT Bumi Jaya 05/BG Bumi 300 03, which transported approximately 8,370 metric tonnes of bulk coal from Palembang to Malaysia. Pelni managed the entire agency process, from coordinating loading activities in Indonesia to providing services upon the vessel’s arrival at Port Klang on 1 July 2026, through to the completion of operations at Lumut Maritime Terminal on 15 July 2026. Ditto stated that this success reflects growing trust in Pelni’s competence in delivering ship agency services, including on international routes. He added that the achievement serves as a foundation for the company to continue expanding its agency service network across Southeast Asia. “Through this service expansion to Malaysia, Pelni is optimistic it can strengthen its role in supporting logistics connectivity and supply chains in the Southeast Asian region,” Ditto concluded.
