PT Pelni (Indonesia National Shipping) has prepared six passenger vessels during the 2026 Eid holiday travel period in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The six ships are KM Siguntang, Tidar, Sirimau, Awu, Wilis, and Binaiya, which will transport passengers from Kupang City to other regions.

“These six ships will call at Kupang City to transport people to other areas,” said Teguh Hari Setiadi, General Manager of PT Pelni’s Kupang Branch Class II, during an interview at Tenau Port Kupang, NTT, on Friday (13 March 2026).

Teguh explained that Pelni has received permission and dispensation from the Ministry of Transportation for a 35 per cent increase in passenger ticket allocation quotas for those wishing to travel by Pelni vessels.

Ticket bookings utilise an online system that can be downloaded on Android and through various official sales channels. Should passengers using Pelni vessels face information limitations, they can visit the nearest branch office directly.

Pelni Warns Public Against Ticket Sale Fraud on Social Media

Teguh cautioned all NTT residents to exercise caution regarding ticket purchases through social media platforms. According to him, such transactions can be confirmed as fraudulent, as residents of Kupang City have already fallen victim to ticket sale scams falsely claiming to represent PT Pelni.

“We are currently investigating this matter in cooperation with police to uncover such cases. So if anyone wishes to purchase tickets, they can visit the Pelni Kupang Branch office directly,” Teguh explained.
