“Official information and the latest developments will be communicated periodically through Pelita Air’s official channels,” he said.

The Pelita Air aircraft reportedly crashed shortly after take-off, having just unloaded its fuel cargo at Yuvai Semaring Airport in Long Bawan. Weather conditions over Krayan at the time of the incident and up to the present have been reported as cloudy and dark.

An eyewitness at the airport, identified as Aboy, recounted the tense moments as the aircraft began to lose control.
