Products from micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) fostered by PT Pertamina (Persero) are now being marketed on all Pelita Air domestic flights. This step is expected to broaden market access for SME players through the airline’s network serving 15 destinations across Indonesia.

Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius stated that the initiative provides an opportunity for Pertamina-assisted SMEs to market their products to Pelita Air passengers on routes including Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Palembang, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Lombok, Pontianak, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Kendari, and Makassar.

“The presence of SME products in Pelita Air cabins is an extension of Pertamina’s major agenda to encourage the Increased Use of Domestic Products (P3DN),” Simon said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Simon stated that strengthening national industry aligns with efforts to increase industrial added value and promote economic independence. According to him, the company wants to expand market opportunities for domestic products, ranging from large-scale industries to small businesses.

Pertamina Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita said SMEs contribute significantly to the national economy through job creation and community economic development. “Pertamina is fully committed to fostering and empowering SMEs as part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility implementation, as well as supporting the achievement of the President’s Asta Cita, particularly the third point regarding the creation of quality jobs and entrepreneurship development,” Arya said.

Pelita Air President Director Faik Fahmi said the collaboration connects the SME development programme with wider market access through flight services. “We believe Pelita Air is the right marketing channel for Pertamina-assisted SMEs to become more widely known by the public,” Faik said.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pelita Air Service at the launch of the PAS Sky Shop “Lokal Terbang Tinggi” at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Through this in-flight sales service, passengers can purchase various Pertamina-assisted SME products, including coconut oil-based body care products from Bali Ayu, bags and wallets made by Uwaiscraft, and hijabs from Adabina Scarves.

Bali Ayu Nature founder Komang Yatik said participating in the programme opens up opportunities to reach more consumers. “I am very proud to have the opportunity to join this programme. Our products can now fly higher with Pelita Air. Hopefully, in the future, they will be known not only domestically but also in international markets,” Yatik said.
