Pelita Air Committed to Maintaining Status as Indonesia's Most On-Time Airline
Pelita Air is committed to maintaining its On-Time Performance (OTP). This was stated by the President Director of Pelita Air, Faik Fahmi, after receiving an award recognising Pelita Air as the Air Transport Business Entity with the Best On-Time Performance for 2026 from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transportation, during the Aviation Award 2026 ceremony.
“For us, being on time means respecting the time and trust of our customers,” said Faik in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday (3/9/2026).
Faik noted that this achievement serves as recognition of Pelita Air’s consistency in maintaining flight punctuality while ensuring an optimal travel experience for passengers. He mentioned that this award follows a previous achievement of Best On-Time Performance in August 2025 from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
“This achievement also serves as proof that maintaining consistency in punctuality requires the collaboration of all operational elements, supported by disciplined work processes and the appropriate use of technology,” said Faik.
For Faik, the award is an appreciation of the consistency of all Pelita Air officers in maintaining operational quality and flight punctuality. He stated that Pelita Air’s consistency in maintaining OTP is also supported by the use of OnTimeX technology, a digital innovation developed through the collaboration of Pelita Air’s operational team to integrate safety, sustainability, and efficiency into flight operational processes.
“We developed OnTimeX from the need to provide flight operational processes that are more integrated, efficient, and precise,” Faik added.
Faik explained that this technology assists the operational team in managing various flight data and information digitally, allowing decision-making to be conducted more quickly and accurately. He noted that OnTimeX is an evolution of the paperless cockpit and operational digitalisation initiatives that Pelita Air has implemented since 2023.
“This innovation has received recognition from Airbus through its subsidiary, NavBlue, as well as from Pertamina at the Annual Pertamina Quality Award 2026,” Faik continued.
Faik mentioned that the implementation of digitalisation across Pelita Air’s 16 Airbus A320 aircraft has also reduced paper usage by more than 1.2 tonnes annually. He stated that flight operational and technical data, which were previously processed manually, can now be managed digitally and automatically with greater precision.
In addition to increasing work process efficiency, this also minimises the potential for errors during the pre-flight stage and supports flight punctuality. Faik intends for Pelita Air to continue providing the best service and respecting the travel time of every customer.
“Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen operational quality, enhance the capabilities of Pelita Air officers, and utilise technology to provide a travel experience that is increasingly safe, comfortable, reliable, and on time,” said Faik.
