Pelindo Strengthens Inter-Agency Coordination Ahead of Peak Mudik Season for Eid 2026
Jakarta — As Eid approaches in 2026, Pelindo is strengthening coordination with several stakeholders to anticipate potential traffic congestion, particularly in the Tanjung Priok Port area in North Jakarta. The coordination involves Metro Jaya Police, the Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Tanjung Priok, and relevant industry associations.
This step follows predictions of increased vehicle mobility compared to the previous year during the mudik and balik period, which could impact traffic flow on major roads and in the port area, a critical national logistics distribution hub.
Metro Jaya Police Traffic Director Kombes. Pol. Komarudin stated that the force has conducted traffic engineering simulations ahead of Eid.
“We have prepared various traffic engineering measures and monitoring of cargo transport vehicles to ensure mudik and balik travel runs safely and smoothly, particularly in the Jakarta area and surroundings, including access to Tanjung Priok Port,” Komarudin said.
Meanwhile, Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Chief Capt. Heru Susanto said that cross-sectoral coordination between Pelindo and industry associations must be maintained, particularly in anticipating the flow of goods to be shipped ahead of Eid.
“Cross-sectoral and stakeholder coordination is continually encouraged, especially with association partners operating in the port area, to ensure cargo flow management is maintained during the mudik and balik period,” Heru said.
Support was also expressed by freight transport business operator Suwarna Chiu from the Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (APTRINDO) Jakarta, stating his organisation is committed to synergising to support the measures already established for smooth cargo flow at Tanjung Priok Port.
“For us, smooth operations are the primary factor. Therefore, we naturally support every decision made, and we are always ready to coordinate with both regulators and port operators,” Suwarna explained.
On the same occasion, Pelindo Institutional Relations Director Hendri Ginting conveyed that Tanjung Priok Port plays a strategic role in maintaining smooth logistics flow during the Eid period.
