Pelindo strengthens customs supervision with container scanners
The implementation of this container scanning technology is a tangible manifestation of the synergy between Pelindo Group entities in strengthening the quality of port services, transparency, and the accountability of inspection processes.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (PSL) and PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) are strengthening customs supervision through the provision of two container scanning units at the Surabaya Container Terminal, East Java.
“The implementation of this container scanning technology is a tangible manifestation of the synergy between Pelindo Group entities in strengthening the quality of port services, transparency, and the accountability of the inspection process,” said the President Director of PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva, Faruq Hidayat, in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The cooperation was signed on Friday (25/9), with PSL providing two container scanning units along with their supporting systems, which will be placed at the Surabaya Container Terminal for both import and export lanes.
In addition to equipment provision, the collaboration includes information technology integration, equipment maintenance, and the provision of support personnel to ensure operational reliability and service security.
Faruq stated that his company is striving to provide scanning technology support that is integrated with good systems and governance through this partnership with TPS.
According to him, the application of this technology aligns with Pelindo’s transformation direction under the guidance of Danantara, aimed at strengthening digitalisation, modernisation of facilities, safety, and service quality.
“For us, the development of supporting port facilities is not only oriented towards operational aspects, but also towards how to provide services that are increasingly transparent, accountable, and provide added value for stakeholders,” he said.
He added that as a container terminal operator within the customs area, TPS has a responsibility to support customs inspections conducted by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
The presence of these two container scanning units represents TPS’s commitment to providing facilities that support more effective, accurate, and transparent supervision without compromising the smooth flow of logistics at the port.
The provision of these two scanning units at TPS adds to the modern port support facilities operated by PSL at several strategic ports, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, and Medan.
