PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 2 has assured full preparedness of all passenger terminals in facing the 2026 Lebaran homecoming flow. This effort is being carried out comprehensively to support the smooth mobility of the public during the homecoming period.

Executive Director 2 of Pelindo Regional 2, Budi Prasetio, stated that various aspects have been prepared optimally, from facilities and operations to cross-agency coordination. “We have prepared all passenger terminals very well, covering infrastructure, service flow arrangements, and personnel readiness so that public travel remains safe, comfortable, and smooth,” he said on Thursday, 19 March 2026.

Up to H-2 Lebaran, passenger movements in the Regional 2 area show a positive trend and remain controlled. Passenger flows are distributed across various terminals, with the main concentration in the Banten area as a crossing hub, while other terminals support the distribution to avoid concentration at one point.

Based on operational data, the total number of voyages or vessel calls recorded 215 trips. Meanwhile, the total number of passengers reached 119,553 people. For vehicles, two-wheeled vehicles numbered 69,865 units and logistics vehicles 13,279 units, with a total of 83,144 vehicles overall.

“In general, the movement trend has been increasing since the mid-period and continues to rise. This pattern indicates that the homecoming flow distribution is starting to spread to several supporting ports, thus helping to reduce pressure on the main ports,” Budi explained.

In terms of security and safety, Pelindo Regional 2 places this as the top priority. Various measures are being implemented, such as increased surveillance in terminal areas, additional operational and security personnel, and strengthened passenger service procedures.

All supporting facilities such as waiting rooms, embarkation and debarkation lanes, and information systems are also ensured to operate optimally to avoid congestion and enhance user comfort.

Pelindo Regional 2 is also strengthening coordination with various parties, including the Indonesian National Police, Indonesian National Armed Forces, and port authorities (KSOP) to maintain security in the area and traffic management.

In addition, coordination is being conducted with ship operators, local governments, and other transportation agencies such as PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) and Korlantas Polri to ensure service synchronisation and readiness to face the peak homecoming flow.

To improve services, Pelindo Regional 2 has prepared integrated posts at passenger terminals. These posts serve as centres for information and assistance for homecomers, managed jointly with the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Police, TNI, and the Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics.

Various supporting facilities are also provided, such as health posts, children’s play areas, free workshops, UMKM areas, prayer rooms, and portable toilets to enhance homecomers’ comfort while at the port.

Regarding the peak homecoming flow, Pelindo estimates that movements will be dynamic following public preferences. Nevertheless, various operational scenarios have been prepared to anticipate surges so that services remain optimal.

Pelindo urges the public to plan their trips well, arrive early at the port, and follow the instructions of on-site officers.

“Pelindo is committed to providing the best services so that the homecoming journey runs safely, comfortably, and smoothly. Support and discipline from service users are key to ensuring the homecoming flow proceeds orderly,” Budi concluded.
