Pelindo Prepares Port Facilities for Virgo Ship Victims

Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 Sub Regional Kalimantan is assisting in the preparation of facilities at Trisakti Port, Banjarmasin, by establishing a command post for the victims of the Virgo Transport 8 vessel as a form of support for the ongoing search efforts.

“We are assisting relevant agencies by providing search post facilities that can be utilised as a means to support coordination and operational needs,” said the General Manager of Banjarmasin Port, Ari Sudarono, in Banjarmasin on Sunday.

A number of prepared facilities include chairs, tables, televisions, fans, information boards, as well as computer equipment and installations.

In addition, Pelindo is preparing a medical examination room equipped with cots to support health screening requirements.

The company is also prepared to coordinate with relevant stakeholders according to the needs on the ground.

Pelindo’s support is focused on providing facilities and supporting needs within the port area to ensure that inter-agency coordination can proceed effectively.

The presence of the search post and medical examination room is expected to assist the needs of relevant agencies during the execution of the search efforts for KM Virgo Transport 8.

Pelindo Regional 3 Sub Regional Kalimantan hopes that the entire series of search efforts for KM Virgo Transport 8 can proceed smoothly and achieve the expected results promptly.
