PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), or Pelindo, has ensured that all port services remain fully operational throughout the Lebaran transport period in 2026. This measure is undertaken to support the smooth mobility of the public and logistics distribution, which typically increases significantly ahead of and after Eid al-Fitr.

Pelindo’s Chief Executive Officer, Achmad Muchtasyar, stated that the company has prepared various strategic measures to enhance service quality at ports during this period. Preparations undertaken include strengthening passenger terminal operations, improving coordination with relevant stakeholders, and optimising port facilities to accommodate the surge in passengers and cargo.

“Pelindo is committed to ensuring all port services run optimally during the Lebaran transport period. Our port operations are on full alert for 24 hours to support the smooth flow of goods and passenger mobility,” said Achmad.

In addition, Pelindo has expressed its support for government policy regarding restrictions on the operation of three-axle or larger freight vehicles during the outbound and return Lebaran travel period in 2026, which applies from 13–29 March 2026. This policy aims to regulate the flow of public travel to be more orderly, safe, and controlled.

In line with this policy, Pelindo has prepared various operational measures, ranging from traffic management and terminal capacity to control the level of container congestion, scheduling vessel berthing, and optimising terminal operational services so that loading and unloading activities remain safe and efficient.

On the other hand, Pelindo has also ensured readiness of passenger terminal services by increasing human resource preparedness, service systems, and security in the port area. Various support facilities for passengers, such as waiting areas, information services, and management of vessel departure and arrival flows have also been strengthened.

By 15 March 2026, services across all Pelindo passenger terminals had been running smoothly, with migrant travellers having reached over 500,000 passengers. This figure is estimated to continue increasing as the peak exodus period approaches, predicted to occur at two to three days before Eid, with a projected total passenger movement increase of approximately 5 per cent compared to the previous year.

Through these various efforts, Pelindo hopes that the 2026 Lebaran transport operations can run smoothly, safely, and comfortably for the public travelling via maritime routes, whilst ensuring that national logistics distribution remains secure throughout this extended holiday period.
