Pelindo Group Strengthens Industry Partnership Network to Expand Economic Impact
PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) held PortPress 2026 as an initiative to strengthen public understanding of the port sector’s contribution to logistics and economic growth.
Carrying the theme “Ports Drive Logistics, Boost the Regional Economy”, the event took place at the Auditorium of the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.
President Director of PTP Nonpetikemas, Indra Hidayat Sani, said that beyond serving as an appreciation event for media professionals, PortPress 2026 also provided a space for collaboration between the company, customers, media and stakeholders.
“The series of activities includes a journalistic works competition, strategic discussion forums and training on developments in digital communication, in order to broaden the reach of information on the transformation of the port sector,” Indra said in a statement on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.
He emphasised that strengthening the port sector must go hand in hand with strengthening public communication. According to him, the transformation undertaken by the company will have a broader impact when the public understands the role of ports as drivers of national logistics and supporters of economic growth.
“When the government pushes mineral downstreaming, food self-sufficiency, infrastructure development and export growth, demand for non-container terminals will rise. In line with this, we are here to support the regional economy,” he said.
PTP Nonpetikemas’ operational performance in the first half of 2026 showed a positive growth trend. As of June 2026, the company recorded a total throughput of 26,799,777 tonnes/m³, reaching 108 per cent of its corporate budget plan (RKAP) target and growing 20 per cent compared with the same period in 2025.
The achievement was driven by an increase in general cargo flows of 6.64 million tonnes, up 10.89 per cent year on year, liquid bulk of 6.23 million tonnes, up 24.07 per cent, and dry bulk of 12.57 million tonnes, up 25.74 per cent. Overall, this reflects rising logistics and trade activity across various regions.
Support for the initiative also came from port service users. Head of Operations at Meratus Line, Heri Cahyono, said that effective communication is one of the key factors in building an integrated and competitive logistics ecosystem.
“When ports are fast and efficient, we as maritime industry players will automatically need additional equipment and increased vessel capacity, because there is a limit to speed and it must be pursued together. That is why Indonesia, as a maritime nation, will never stop, because demand keeps circulating,” Heri said.
