Pelindo Group Dispatches 7,570 Participants for Free Mudik Journey 2026
Jakarta — PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), commonly known as Pelindo, has officially launched participants for the Free Mudik Together Pelindo Group 2026 through a flag-off ceremony held at the Buffer Area of Tanjung Priok Port on Monday, 16 March 2026. The event marks the beginning of journeys for homegoers heading to their hometowns under a programme themed “Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope.”
Pelindo’s Managing Director, Achmad Muchtasyar, stated that the Free Mudik programme forms part of Pelindo Group’s commitment through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme to provide tangible benefits to society, particularly in supporting public mobility during the Eid homecoming period.
“This year’s theme, ‘Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope,’ reflects Pelindo Group’s commitment to act not merely as a port operator, but also as a company that cares for and gives back to society,” he said on Monday.
He noted that public enthusiasm for Pelindo Group’s Free Mudik initiative has grown. “Compared to the previous year, the number of mudik participants with Pelindo Group has increased. In 2025, this programme dispatched 7,198 participants. Meanwhile, in 2026, the number of participants has risen to 7,570 people,” he added.
To enhance comfort for participants, particularly families with children, organisers have provided a child-friendly zone in the departure area. Various entertainment such as cosplay and clown performances were arranged to create a warmer and more enjoyable atmosphere for participants before commencing their journeys to their hometowns.
Through this initiative, Pelindo Group hopes that participants’ mudik journeys will proceed smoothly and safely until reaching their destinations, so that the moment of gathering with family during Eid celebrations can be experienced with full happiness.
“Mudik is a tradition that unites the nation, and we feel honoured to be part of this meaningful journey,” Achmad concluded.
One participant heading to Yogyakarta, Endang, expressed joy at participating in Pelindo Group’s Free Mudik programme this year. “I’m really happy to get it for free; from year to year, only this year did I get it, I’m really happy. In future, I hope it continues next year, and Pelindo can advance further,” said Endang.
Pelindo Group’s 2026 Free Mudik programme involves 161 bus fleets operating round-trip services, with departures from four major cities — Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar — heading to 13 destination cities across Indonesia.
