Pelindo Group Dispatches 7,570 Participants for Free Homecoming Journey 2026, Enthusiasm Increases
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), or Pelindo, has officially dispatched participants in the 2026 Free Homecoming Journey Together with Pelindo Group through a flag-off ceremony held at the Buffer Area of Tanjung Priok Port on Monday, 16 March 2026.
The initiative marks the beginning of the homecoming journey for participants returning to their hometowns under a programme themed “Safe Homecoming, Shared Hope.”
Pelindo’s Chief Executive Officer, Achmad Muchtasyar, stated that the Free Homecoming Journey programme is part of Pelindo Group’s commitment through its Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Programme (TJSL) to provide tangible benefits to society, particularly in supporting public mobility during the Eid holiday period.
“Our theme this year, ‘Safe Homecoming, Shared Hope’, reflects Pelindo Group’s commitment to present not only as a port operator, but also as a company that cares and shares with the community,” he said.
He added that public enthusiasm for Pelindo’s Free Homecoming Journey programme has increased. “Compared to the previous year, the number of participants in the homecoming journey with Pelindo Group has increased. In 2025, this programme dispatched 7,198 participants. Whilst in 2026, the number of participants has increased to 7,570 people,” he continued.
To enhance comfort for participants, particularly families travelling with children, the organising committee has provided a child-friendly zone in the departure area. Various entertainment activities such as cosplay and circus acts are featured to create a warmer and more enjoyable atmosphere for participants before they begin their journey to their hometowns.
One participant heading to Yogyakarta, Endang, expressed happiness at being able to participate in Pelindo’s Free Homecoming Journey this year.
“I’m really happy to get it for free. After all these years, this is the first year I’ve been able to participate. I’m really happy about it. Hopefully next year there will be another programme, and Pelindo will continue to progress,” said Endang.
Through this initiative, Pelindo Group hopes that participants’ homecoming journeys will proceed smoothly and safely until reaching their destinations, so that the moment of gathering with family during Eid can be experienced with full joy.
“Homecoming is a tradition that unites the nation, and we feel honoured to be part of this meaningful journey,” concluded Achmad Muchtasyar.
