Pelindo Distributes 4,000 Food Assistance Packages to Orphans
Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (SPSL) and its subsidiary companies distributed more than 4,000 assistance packages to communities around the company’s operational areas during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah/2026 through the Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme. The programme formed part of the “Pelindo Berbagi Ramadhan” (Pelindo Sharing Ramadan) initiative launched by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero).
The assistance was channelled through three main activities: distribution of basic food packages, allowances for orphans, and provision of iftar meals to dock workers (TKBM), truck drivers, and communities around the company’s operational areas.
Dewi Fitriyani, Senior Vice President of the Corporate Secretariat at PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva, stated that Ramadan represented an opportunity for the company to strengthen social awareness whilst reinforcing relationships with surrounding communities.
“Ramadan is a moment to strengthen values of togetherness and care. Through various sharing programmes, we want to ensure that PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva’s presence is felt not only through business activities, but also through social contributions that provide direct benefits to communities,” she said.
Within the programme, 1,965 basic food packages were distributed to communities around the company’s operational areas to help meet their needs during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr. Additionally, the company provided over 1,000 allowances to orphans as an expression of social care during the holy month.
The programme received positive responses from communities. Abdul Rahman, Chairman of the Kalibaru Community Welfare Institution (LMK), expressed appreciation for PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva’s support in the social activities. He hoped the sharing programme would continue in subsequent years as it provided direct benefits to communities.
Beyond food package and orphan allowance distribution, PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva also distributed 1,060 iftar meal packages to communities in and passing through the company’s operational areas at the time of breaking the fast. This iftar sharing activity also involved company employees as part of the Employee Social Responsibility (ESR) programme to encourage active worker participation in social activities.
In its implementation, the company involved micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) as providers of iftar meals, thereby generating economic benefits for local businesses.
As part of the Pelindo Group, PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva stated it would continue implementing various TJSL programmes that provide real benefits to communities around its operational areas.
“Company success is measured not only by business performance, but also by the extent of benefits that can be provided to communities and the surrounding environment,” Dewi said.
