Pelindo backs SOE logistics consolidation to strengthen national supply chain
State-owned port operator Pelindo has voiced its support for the consolidation of logistics state-owned enterprises (SOEs), a strategic move to strengthen the national supply chain through enhanced integration. The consolidation is part of a government policy, driven by BPI Danantara, to transform the national logistics sector.
Pelindo President Director Achmad Muchtasyar stated that the consolidation is a strategic step to boost national logistics competitiveness through synergy among state-owned logistics players. “We welcome this consolidation process as part of the effort to build a more integrated national logistics ecosystem,” Achmad said in a statement on Wednesday.
The move was marked by the signing of a Shareholder Agreement and Deed of Merger by PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva, a Pelindo subsidiary, along with other logistics SOEs at Pos Bloc Jakarta on Tuesday. Achmad added that closer collaboration among SOEs would strengthen supply chain connectivity, reduce logistics costs, and make services more effective and competitive.
Aurelius Altius Rosimin, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at PT Danantara Aset Manajemen, said the consolidation aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic direction to build more focused, efficient, and competitive SOEs. He noted that merging capabilities, assets, and networks is expected to create synergy and greater added value for the state.
In the initial stage, the shareholding structure of the consolidated company consists of 74.47 percent Pelindo Group, 9.24 percent PT Pos Indonesia, 9.37 percent PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera, and 6.92 percent other entities. As the majority shareholder, Pelindo holds a strategic role in overseeing the integration process until the formation of a national logistics holding.
Seven logistics SOEs will merge into a single entity as the foundation for the holding. These include PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI) and PT Prima Indonesia Logistik from Pelindo Group, PT Pos Logistik Indonesia, PT Sarana Bandar Logistik, PT KBN Prima Logistik, PT Varia Usaha Dharma Segara, and PT Krakatau Jasa Logistik. PT Multi Terminal Indonesia has been appointed as the surviving entity.
PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva President Director Faruq Hidayat said the company is ready to optimise its role in supporting the consolidation, particularly by strengthening port-related logistics services and port-to-hinterland connectivity. The consolidation is expected to strengthen the national distribution network, optimise assets and operations, reduce logistics costs, and enhance the competitiveness of national businesses.
