PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) and 14 other State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) launched the Collaborative TJSL Programme for Environmental Conservation and Community Empowerment in the Raja Ampat Islands Phase II on Wednesday (23/4). The programme targets underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions through an integrated approach combining environmental, social, and economic aspects. Activities are centred on three islands: Manyaifun Island, Mutus Island, and Yefkabu Island in Raja Ampat Regency. Several strategic interventions are provided, ranging from village electricity access, improvements to educational facilities and public infrastructure, to strengthening community capacity through economic mentoring and environmental conservation. Director of TJSL and Sustainability at the SOE Management Agency, Edi Eko Cahyono, described this collaboration as a strategic step to enhance the effectiveness of TJSL programmes via a multi-intervention approach. “We are promoting inter-SOE collaboration to deliver more integrated, measurable, and sustainable TJSL programmes. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen monitoring and evaluation to ensure the programmes are increasingly effective in delivering real impacts for communities, both economically, socially, and environmentally,” Edi stated in a written remark on Friday (24/4/2026). The launch activities included the inauguration of aid, symbolic handovers to the community, and mangrove planting with local residents. On the environmental side, the programme also encompasses coral reef rehabilitation as an effort to preserve the coastal and marine ecosystems of Raja Ampat. In terms of social and economic aspects, the programme focuses on developing community-based tourism and strengthening local institutions such as tourism awareness groups and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). Director of Institutional Relations at PT Pelindo, Hendri Ginting, emphasised Pelindo’s involvement as part of the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable development in 3T regions. “This programme reflects Pelindo’s commitment, together with other SOEs, to promoting community independence and resilience, particularly in Raja Ampat. We hope this initiative not only provides short-term benefits but also creates sustainable impacts and can serve as a model for integrated TJSL implementation that can be replicated in other 3T regions,” Hendri said. Through this cross-SOE synergy, Pelindo and the 14 collaborating SOEs reaffirm their commitment to delivering tangible contributions to communities and the environment, while supporting the national agenda for inclusive and sustainable development.
