Pekanbaru City Government Deploys Medical Teams for Returning Hajj Pilgrims
The Pekanbaru City Government has placed medical teams and ambulances on standby at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport during the return of Hajj pilgrims. We have prepared ten medical teams to anticipate any pilgrims experiencing health problems, but hopefully there won’t be any, said Dedy Sambudi, Acting Head of the Pekanbaru City Health Office, on Friday. He explained that the medical teams are deployed at the airport from 09.00 to 16.00 Western Indonesia Time, or according to the arrival flight schedule of the pilgrims. This is because three groups are arriving on a single day at different times: the first at 09.00, the second at 12.00, and the third at 16.00, he clarified. He stated that the presence of the medical teams is a follow-up to the directive from Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho to provide health services for Hajj pilgrims. In addition to medical personnel, he added, the city government will also offer snacks in the form of kue talam to all pilgrims from Pekanbaru. Our officers are ready to provide help for pilgrims who need health checks or require immediate treatment for health problems, he concluded.
