Pekanbaru Celebrates 54th PKK Unity Day with Festivities, Mayor Distributes Thousands of Food Packages

The Pekanbaru City Government held the 54th PKK Unity Day commemoration at Bukit Putera Field, Senapelan District, on Monday (29/6). The event was lively, attended by around 5,000 participants consisting of PKK cadres from all sub-districts and wards, as well as sanitation workers in Pekanbaru City. The 54th PKK Unity Day commemoration was also attended by Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho along with the Chairperson of the Pekanbaru City PKK Mobilisation Team, Sulastri Agung Nugroho, and other local government officials. On this occasion, Mayor Agung Nugroho handed over various forms of assistance to the community as a gesture of government concern. A total of 1,500 basic food packages were distributed by the Pekanbaru City Government, plus 1,000 basic food packages from the Pekanbaru City PKK Mobilisation Team. In addition to the basic food assistance, the Pekanbaru City Government also provided hearing aids for children in need. Assistance was also given to sanitation workers as a form of appreciation for their dedication to maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of Pekanbaru City. The atmosphere of the event was made even more festive by the enthusiasm of the thousands of participants who filled the venue. Various activities enlivened the 54th PKK Unity Day commemoration, which served as a momentum to strengthen synergy between the government and the community. In his speech, Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho expressed his appreciation for the active role of the Pekanbaru City PKK Mobilisation Team, which has been a strategic partner for the government in implementing various community programmes. ‘I appreciate the Pekanbaru City PKK Mobilisation Team who are very active in assisting the government and acting as an extension of the community. At the age of 54, I hope PKK will become closer to the community, not only playing a role in the family but also becoming a pioneer in protecting the environment, caring for nature, and supporting development so that the people of Pekanbaru become more prosperous,’ said Agung. According to him, the presence of the PKK Mobilisation Team plays an important role in improving the quality of life of the community through various programmes in family empowerment, health, education, and environmental conservation. Through this 54th PKK Unity Day commemoration, the Pekanbaru City PKK Mobilisation Team is expected to continue strengthening synergy with the government and the community in implementing family empowerment programmes. PKK is also expected to become a driving force in creating a clean, healthy, and prosperous environment as part of efforts towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
