JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the state financial losses arising from suspected corruption in outsourcing procurement of goods and services carried out by Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq were substantial. The KPK said the Rp46 billion paid to the company owned by Fadia Arafiq’s husband and child during 2023-2026 could be used to construct 400 decent homes in Pekalongan. “Initially it was around Rp46 billion (transactions to the company of Fadia Arafiq’s husband and child) or after deducting for employee salaries of Rp22 billion, there remained Rp24 billion. If used to construct decent housing for the people of Pekalongan at a unit cost of Rp50 million per house, that would be about 400 houses,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the KPK, during a press conference at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. “If it were used for roads, the district road at Rp250 million per kilometre would yield about 50 to 60 kilometres; imagine the Rp24 billion being used for the people’s interests,” he added. Earlier, the KPK named Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of outsourcing services and other procurement in the Pekalongan Regency for the 2023-2026 Budget Year. Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu said the suspect status was established on the basis of sufficient evidence. Fadia Arafiq was initially caught in an Operation Hand Catch (OTT) operation in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. “KPK has elevated the case to the investigation phase by naming one person as a suspect, namely FAR (Fadia Arafiq) as Pekalongan Regent for the 2025 – 2030 period,” Asep said in a press conference at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Asep said the KPK would subsequently detain Fadia Arafiq for the first 20 days from 4-23 March 2026. Detention would be conducted at the State Detention Centre (Rutan) of the KPK’s Merah Putih Building branch. PT RNB is a service provision company that also acted as a vendor in the goods and services procurement (PBJ) within Pekalongan Regency. Asep said Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff serves as commissioner of PT RNB and Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff serves as director.
