Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq Was With Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi When Arrested by the KPK
JAKARTA — Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq says she was with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi when she was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the early hours of Tuesday, 3 March 2026. Fadia also denies that her arrest was part of an OTT operation, noting that no money was seized during the arrest.
“During the arrest, was the raid at my house? I was with Pak Governor of Central Java,” Fadia told reporters as she was escorted to a detention vehicle at Gedung Merah Putih, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
“So I did not have any OTT, not a single rupiah,” she added.
“Sheesh, we were discussing permissions because I could not attend the MBG event,” she said.
Fadia also denied that her company participated in government procurement in Pekalongan Regency.
“No, I did not participate; it is not mine, I never participated. It is a family-owned company, not mine,” she said.
“I will discuss with my lawyer, because I swear there was no OTT, not a single rupiah, and my head of department was not involved,” she added.
Earlier, the KPK arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq along with aides and trusted associates in an OTT operation in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
“Those involved were secured in Semarang, and this morning the three parties were brought to Jakarta for further examination,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said at Gedung Merah Putih, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Subsequently, the KPK also arrested 11 other individuals in this series of arrests, including Pekalongan Regency Secretary HM Yulian Akbar.
Budi stated that the OTT relates to suspected corruption involving outsourcing procurement in several Pekalongan Regency departments.
The KPK suspects a manipulation of outsourcing procurement in several departments to allow certain vendors or companies to enter Pekalongan Regency’s procurement processes and win contracts to deliver goods or services.
