KPK has named Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as a suspect in a corruption case after she was caught in a sting operation. She was arrested while charging her electric car. “Arriving in Semarang, it was somewhat of a stroke of luck; they found the electric car still charging, still being filled. That is where they found her,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK building, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (4 March 2026). Asep explained the pursuit of Fadia began after the team moved from Pekalongan toward Semarang. He said the KPK team nearly lost track of the suspect. “After leaving Pekalongan, some members of the team moved toward Semarang. They nearly lost the person,” he said. They had identified the types of cars and the license plates of the cars Fadia was using. Ultimately Fadia could be secured. In this operation, the KPK also seized a total of five vehicles from various parties. The vehicles were a Wuling Air EV, Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Camry, Toyota Fortuner, and Toyota Vellfire. “The team secured a number of four-wheeled motor vehicles,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo. In this case, the KPK said Fadia’s son and husband established a company named PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB). Fadia is suspected to be the beneficial owner (BO) of the company. The company also housed Fadia’s campaign team. She had been urging regional officials to win for the company. KPK said PT RNB secured outsourcing contracts across 17 regional government agencies, three regional hospitals and one district in 2025. Asep said PT RNB received Rp 46 billion from contracts with Pekalongan Regency Government from 2023-2026. “From that money, only Rp 22 billion was used to pay outsourcing staff salaries. The remainder was siphoned off and distributed to the Bupati’s family, totalling Rp 19 billion,” Asep said. Here are the details: - Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq: Rp 5.5 billion; - Fadia’s husband, Ashraff: Rp 1.1 billion; - PT RNB director Rul Bayatun: Rp 2.3 billion; - Fadia’s son, Sabiq: Rp 4.6 billion; - Fadia’s daughter, Mehnaz Na: Rp 2.5 billion; - plus a cash withdrawal of Rp 3 billion.
