Pekalongan Regent Becomes Sole Suspect in Outsourcing Services Procurement Corruption

Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq has been named the sole suspect in a case of alleged corruption linked to the procurement of outsourcing services or labour outsourcing, and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 fiscal year. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it had escalated the matter to the investigation stage by naming one suspect, Ms. Arafiq as Pekalongan Regent for the 2025-2030 period. ‘KPK has escalated this matter to the investigative stage by naming one suspect, namely Ms. FAR as Pekalongan Regent for the 2025-2030 period,’ said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the Merah Putih Building KPK, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Asep said KPK named Fadia Arafiq as a suspect based on the sufficiency of evidence obtained. ‘KPK will subsequently detain Ms. FAR for the first 20 days from 4-23 March 2026. Detention will take place at the State Detention Centre, Merah Putih Branch KPK,’ he said. Meanwhile, he said Fadia Arafiq is charged with violating Article 12 letter i and Article 12B of Indonesian Law Number 31 Year 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 Year 2001 in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 Year 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP). Earlier, on 3 March 2026, KPK announced it had carried out a series of arrest operations during Ramadan, which also marked the seventh sting operation this year. KPK said it detained Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq along with aides and trusted associates in the Semarang area, Central Java. KPK then announced the arrest of 11 other individuals from Pekalongan, Central Java. Meanwhile, KPK said the OTT arrest of Fadia Arafiq was related to the procurement of outsourcing or labour outsourcing for several departments within the Pekalongan Regency Government. (Ant)
