Pekalongan Regency Opens Transmigration Opportunities to Poso, Central Sulawesi

The opportunity is intended for those with a profession or educational background as teachers, religious teachers or midwives, as such personnel are still needed in transmigration areas.

Pekalongan, Central Java (ANTARA) — The Pekalongan Regency Government is opening an opportunity for residents wishing to join the transmigration programme to Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi.

Sudiarto, Technical Policy Officer for Employment and Transmigration at the Pekalongan Cooperatives, SMEs and Manpower Office, said in Pekalongan on Saturday that the programme aims to give residents the chance to build a better life through the development of the agriculture and plantation sectors.

“This programme is an opportunity for residents who want to improve their standard of living. At the transmigration site, participants will receive land to manage, which is expected to raise family welfare,” he said.

According to him, prospective participants must be local residents as evidenced by their identity card (KTP), be at most 48 years old, have a family, have an interest in agriculture or plantations, and have no outstanding debts.

“The opportunity is intended for those with a profession or educational background as teachers, religious teachers or midwives, because such personnel are still needed in the transmigration areas,” he said.

He said the government has prepared various facilities for prospective transmigrants who pass the selection, including a house, two hectares of land, household appliances, farming equipment, plant seeds, fertiliser, and living assistance for one year.

“Interested residents may come directly to the Cooperatives, SMEs and Manpower Office with the administrative requirements. Registration is open until the end of August 2026, after which a selection process will be carried out,” he said.
