Pekalongan Regency Opens Transmigration Opportunities to Poso, Central Sulawesi
The Pekalongan Regency Government in Central Java is offering residents the chance to participate in a transmigration programme to Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi. Sudiarto, Technical Policy Officer for Employment and Transmigration at the Cooperatives, SMEs, and Manpower Office of Pekalongan Regency, stated on Saturday that the programme aims to provide opportunities for people to achieve a better life through the development of the agricultural and plantation sectors. “This programme is an opportunity for people who want to improve their standard of living. At the transmigration site, participants will receive land to cultivate, which is expected to enhance family welfare,” he said. According to him, prospective participants must be local residents proven by their identity card, be no older than 48 years, married, have an interest in agriculture or plantations, and be free of debt obligations. “This opportunity is intended for those with a profession or educational background as teachers, religious teachers, or midwives, as these personnel are still needed in the transmigration area,” he said. He noted that the government has prepared various facilities for transmigration candidates who pass the selection process, including a house, two hectares of land, household appliances, farming equipment, plant seeds, fertiliser, and a living allowance for one year. “For those interested, please come directly to the Cooperatives, SMEs, and Manpower Office with the administrative requirements. Registration is open until the end of August 2026, after which the selection process will be conducted,” he said.
