Pekalongan Police Investigate Shooting of Central Java DPRD Member's Husband
Pekalongan (ANTARA) — The Pekalongan Police are continuing to investigate the shooting of Amat Muzakhim (56), the husband of Central Java Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member Nur Fatwah, allegedly carried out by an unknown assailant on Saturday evening (February 14).
Pekalongan Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Rachmad C. Yusuf said in Pekalongan on Sunday that the projectile recovered is still undergoing laboratory examination to determine its type and caliber. "The projectile will undergo further analysis and examination by the Central Java Regional Police Forensic Laboratory Division. We will share the results in due course," he said.
Based on preliminary crime scene processing, he said, police confirmed there was only one shot fired. The projectile struck the upper deck of the victim's front porch and then ricocheted downward. Regarding the direction of fire, Rachmad continued, based on CCTV footage and on-site examination, the shot was aimed upward and not directed at the victim.
"The ricocheted projectile was then found on the left side of the victim's home garage. So our preliminary conclusion is that this still points to an act of terror," he said.
Crime scene processing of the shooting of Amat Muzakhim (56) was conducted for over two hours on the porch of the victim's home in East Kedungwuni Subdistrict, Kedungwuni District, Pekalongan Regency.
Rachmad, accompanied by Central Java Regional Police Criminal Investigation Director Sr. Comr. Muhammad Anwar Nasir and Forensic Laboratory Division Head Sr. Comr. Fauzi Hidayat, added that follow-up examination by the Central Java Regional Police Forensic Laboratory Division is still ongoing to determine the type of weapon used by the perpetrator. "Whether it was a firearm or another type of weapon, we are still awaiting the laboratory results from the Central Java Regional Police," he said.
To date, police are continuing their investigation to uncover the identity of the perpetrator and the motive behind the shooting.
