Deputy Regent of Pekalongan, Sukirman, said that government services were operating normally after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted an arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared Bupati Fadia Arafiq and the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Mohammad Yulian Akbar. He added that he was awaiting the KPK’s process regarding the OTT that implicated Fadia.

‘In health, education, markets, SMEs and micro-enterprises (UMKM), licensing and so on are still functioning well. We in the government administration are used to sharing tasks. If one is unavailable, another handles it,’ he said at the entrance of the Pekalongan Regional Secretariat (Setda), as reported by detikJateng, Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

He added that coordination between assistants and department heads remains in place to ensure the wheels of government are not disrupted.

Sukirman also noted several rooms in the Setda building could not be used because they are still sealed by the KPK. He said three sections have been temporarily diverted for use.

‘Those rooms have been diverted. The assistant in charge took the initiative. For the Bupati and Sekda rooms, they are currently being guarded,’ he said.

Sukirman admitted he did not yet know in detail the progression of the legal process, including the number of Pekalongan Regency officials taken for questioning.

‘To be frank, we do not yet know the details of how it will unfold. Even the colleagues who were taken to Jakarta — by name — we have not received clear information. We are still awaiting instructions from the Governor and the KPK process,’ he said.
