Pegatron Subsidiary Opens Manufacturing Plant in Batam Industrial Zone
BATAM – Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad, represented by Batam City Secretary Jefridin, attended the grand opening of PT Pegaunihan Technology Indonesia at Jalan Markisa Lot 127–138, Batamindo Industrial Park, Muka Kuning, on Thursday (24/04/2025).
The grand opening of PT Pegaunihan Technology Indonesia was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
"On behalf of the Batam City Government and the Mayor of Batam, we extend our congratulations on the grand opening of PT Pegaunihan Technology Indonesia. We wish them success and hope they can make a positive contribution to the industry and the people of Batam," he said.
PT Pegaunihan Technology Indonesia is a subsidiary of Pegatron, focusing on the design and manufacture of various electronic products, including household appliances and home decoration products. In addition to 3C electronic products, Pegatron also designs household appliances such as LCD televisions, LED lights and telephones. The company is also involved in various collaborations, including a partnership with Telkomsel in the development of smart manufacturing.
"The presence of this company in Batam has certainly opened up employment opportunities, enabling the absorption of local workers," he said, accompanied by the Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency, Reza Khadafi.
He disclosed that the Batam City Government, together with the Batam Development Authority (BP Batam), supports investment in the city. The government, he said, provides streamlined licensing services for investors wishing to invest.
Licensing services for investors, he explained, have been simplified through an online and integrated licensing system, encompassing the Online Single Submission (OSS) system and the Indonesia Batam Online Single Submission (IBOSS).
"With this system, investors can process their permits online — quickly, easily and transparently. Investment licensing services can also be accessed online or in person at the Public Service Mall at the Sumatera Promotion Centre building," he concluded.
