Pegadaian Semarang Launches Business Case Competition 2026 at UNNES
The BCC 2026 serves as a platform for students in Central Java to channel their creative ideas and innovative solutions in the fields of finance, investment, and digital financial service transformation. The launch of this prestigious competition was packaged through an inspirational talkshow titled ‘MengEmaskan Indonesia: Golden Idea for Gold Generation’, which filled the Prof. Wuryanto Auditorium at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) some time ago.
Kadek Eva Suputra, Head of the Bullion Business Division at PT Pegadaian, explained that students possess the analytical sharpness and critical thinking highly needed by the industry to face future challenges.
“We see that the academic perspective of students is very strong and fresh. Through this Business Case Competition, we want those brilliant ideas not only to remain on paper, but to be translated into real, applicable solutions that are beneficial to the wider community,” said Kadek in a written statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
She added that the selection of UNNES as the first kick-off location is based on its strategic proximity and disciplined academic culture. In addition to UNNES, Pegadaian will collaborate with four other major universities that already have The Gade Creative Lounge (TGCL) facilities, namely UNDIP, UGM, UNSOED, and UNS.
Representing the Regional Leader of PT Pegadaian Kanwil XI Semarang, Tyas Ari Hidayat, Head of the Business Support Department, explained that the competition is open to all students in the greater Semarang area. Official registration will open on 18 May 2026.
“Participants are challenged to view Pegadaian from their perspective—whether it be about financial planning, service digitalisation, or product innovations that have not been thought of before. We are targeting at least 100 to 150 teams to participate in this initial stage,” said Tyas.
The competition system is designed comprehensively. Each team (maximum three people) that passes the proposal stage will receive workshop and incubation sessions to refine their ideas before advancing to the final judging round.
Pegadaian not only provides experiential capital, but also significant appreciation for the winners. The prizes prepared include coaching funds, gold savings balances, and the opportunity to win Pegadaian Scholarships.
Through BCC 2026, PT Pegadaian seeks to grow together with the younger generation, while ensuring that financial inclusion and the culture of gold saving continue to take root among students.
“Winners at the university level will receive coaching funds and gold. Subsequently, they will be matched with champions from other campuses at a higher level. The pinnacle is that the best winners are entitled to Pegadaian Scholarships as our support for the education of Indonesia’s golden generation,” Tyas concluded.
