As part of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) efforts and the creation of shared value for the wider community, PT Pegadaian (Persero) Regional Office (Kanwil) IX Jakarta 2 has officially launched the ‘Pegadaian Peduli Rumah Ibadah’ programme by providing aid to several mosques in Jakarta and Banten. The programme was implemented simultaneously across all work units and areas under the auspices of PT Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil IX Jakarta 2, including the Kali Deres, Cireundeu, Tangerang, Tanjung Priok, and Kebayoran Baru areas.

Through this policy, PT Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil IX Jakarta 2 reinforces its function not merely as a business-oriented financial service provider, but also as an active agent of social development, creating an inclusive, harmonious, and sustainable community environment.

The Regional Leader of PT Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil IX Jakarta 2, Maryono, emphasised that this programme is designed to deliver long-term social impact in alignment with the company’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) regarding Sustainable Cities and Communities.

“The Pegadaian Peduli Rumah Ibadah programme represents our commitment to transforming from providing simple physical renovation aid for places of worship into developing sustainable and inclusive urban infrastructure. Places of worship are centres of civilisation, character building, and social meeting points. By providing decent, safe, and comfortable places of worship, Pegadaised ensures that our presence brings concrete benefits that are directly felt by the wider community,” said Maryono.

Maryono added that the active involvement of Pegadaian employees in this activity is also a form of actualising a work culture oriented towards value creation for the nation and state. He noted that the company aims to ensure employees are not only professionally excellent but also possess high social sensitivity to assist others.

The ‘Pegadaian Peduli Rumah Ibadah’ programme focuses on three main pillars of renovation and facility procurement: structural renovations such as roof repairs and repainting walls and facades; improvements to water facilities including toilets and ablution areas; and the procurement of religious facility equipment such as new carpets, generators, sound systems, or air conditioning to enhance congregational comfort. Additionally, the programme includes the provision of disability-friendly facilities, such as the construction of ramps for wheelchair users and handrails in toilet and stair areas. The provision of these accessible facilities is a crucial pillar demonstrating Pegadaian’s commitment to the rights of persons with disabilities and the elderly, ensuring all layers of society can access places of worship without physical barriers.

Through this programme, PT Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil IX Jakarta 2 hopes that the renovated places of worship can become more vibrant, safe, and inclusive centres for religious, social, and community empowerment activities. This step aligns with Pegadaian’s motto and spirit to continue growing alongside the Indonesian people. PT Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil IX Jakarta 2 is committed to continuing to roll out innovative, targeted, and sustainable TJSL programmes in the future to support the achievement of equitable community welfare.
