Pegadaian, through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme Pegadaian Peduli, has distributed aid to earthquake victims in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). The initial assistance, delivered by Pegadaian’s Denpasar Regional Office, focuses on meeting the basic needs of affected communities.

The logistics packages include staple food items (sembako), clean water, baby and toddler supplies, medicines, sanitation equipment, and temporary protection facilities such as refugee tents, blankets and folding mats.

Distribution was carried out directly by Pegadaian teams to ensure the aid arrived quickly and reached the right targets in several locations, including Sikka Regency, Nagekeo Regency, Ende Regency, Manggarai Regency, West Manggarai Regency and East Manggarai Regency, on Monday (17/8/2026).

PT Pegadaian (Persero) Director of Network and Operations Eka Pebriansyah said the aid distribution is part of Pegadaian’s effort to remain present in the community.

“Through Pegadaian Peduli, Pegadaian is committed not only to being present during the emergency response phase, but also to accompanying communities through the post-disaster recovery phase. Currently, Pegadaian is conducting an inventory and data collection of affected customers and operational facilities,” Eka said in a written statement on Wednesday (19/8/2026).

A 7.7-magnitude tectonic earthquake previously struck the Nusa Tenggara Timur region, particularly the northern areas of Flores and Nagekeo. The earthquake, triggered by activity along the Flores Back-Arc Thrust, served as a stark reminder of the high tectonic activity in the Nusa Tenggara zone. In response to the emergency, PT Pegadaian immediately coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), local BPBD offices, and the nearest Pegadaian branch network in NTT to identify the urgent needs of survivors at evacuation sites.

“Through synergy with local government, disaster management agencies and all elements of society, Pegadaian hopes that the handling of the earthquake’s impact in Nusa Tenggara Timur can proceed quickly and optimally. Pegadaian is committed to continuing to monitor developments on the ground and is ready to distribute further assistance in line with the evolving needs of communities in the affected areas,” he concluded.
