Pegadaian Introduces Indonesia’s First Gold ATM, Making Physical Gold Collection Easier
PT Pegadaian (Persero) is continuing to strengthen its digital transformation of gold-based financial services. To mark the first anniversary of the Tring! by Pegadaian app, the company has introduced a network of Gold ATMs, enabling the public to obtain bullion conveniently without the waiting period involved in conventional minting.
The innovation is part of Pegadaian’s efforts to broaden public access to gold investment while making transactions faster, easier and more modern. Gold ATMs are being introduced at strategic locations across Indonesia, including the Pegadaian Palembang branch, where the service was unveiled on Wednesday (14 October 2026).
The service also reflects Pegadaian’s commitment to developing the national bullion ecosystem, as demand grows for investment services integrated with digital technology.
Customers can use the Tring! by Pegadaian app to obtain physical gold through a Gold ATM. They select the transaction menu in the app, scan the QR code displayed on the machine, confirm payment and enter the transaction code they receive.
Once the steps are complete, customers can collect gold bars produced by Galeri 24, in weights ranging from 1 gram to 100 grams, subject to availability and service terms.
Pegadaian President Director Damar Latri Setiawan said the launch of the Gold ATM was one of the company’s initiatives to make investment services more accessible to the public.
He said the development of technology-based services also strengthened Pegadaian’s position as a pioneer of gold banking, or bullion banking, in Indonesia.
Damar said the Gold ATM launch, coinciding with the first anniversary of the Tring! app, demonstrated the company’s commitment to building an inclusive, modern and trusted gold ecosystem. Through the innovation, Pegadaian aims to offer convenient, secure and transparent transactions while supporting its vision of “MengEMASkan Indonesia”.
Strengthening security and the gold investment ecosystem
Alongside making transactions more convenient, Pegadaian says security and certainty of asset ownership are central to the development of its physical and digital gold services.
The company applies a 1:1 physical-gold availability ratio to customer transactions. This means that every gold holding recorded through its Gold Savings or Gold Instalment services is backed by physical gold held in Pegadaian’s vault facilities, in accordance with the applicable contracts.
The practice is also part of the governance of gold transactions under sharia principles, as set out in DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 166 on bullion business activities based on sharia principles.
Pegadaian has also strengthened its operational standards for asset management by applying the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System to its custody services. The standard covers the receipt and quality inspection of assets, administration, storage and security of customers’ gold.
The company says these systems are intended to ensure that the convenience of digital transactions is matched by appropriate governance and asset protection.
The development of Gold ATMs extends Pegadaian’s transformation following the inauguration of its Gold Bank service in February 2025. The service opens up opportunities to develop increasingly integrated gold-based financial products, from storage and digital transactions to access to physical gold.
Through Gold ATMs and the further development of the Tring! app, Pegadaian is offering customers an alternative way to transact while demonstrating how technology can improve service quality and widen access to investment.
The company expects a more accessible gold ecosystem to encourage the public to learn more about gold as an investment instrument and strengthen Pegadaian’s role in Indonesia’s financial industry.
