Pegadaian Introduces Gold ATM in Medan

Medan (ANTARA) – PT Pegadaian (Persero) Regional Office I Medan has introduced a gold ATM to make gold transactions more accessible and convenient for customers.

Yohanis Wulang, head of PT Pegadaian’s Regional Office I in Medan, said on Friday that the machine makes it easier and safer to buy and collect Pegadaian physical gold.

“The gold ATM also serves to educate the public so they feel confident investing in gold, while bringing Pegadaian’s gold services closer to communities. For now, the machine is only available at PT Pegadaian’s Regional Office I in Medan,” he said.

The gold ATM is part of PT Pegadaian’s efforts to reinforce its commitment as a pioneer in Pegadaian’s Gold Bank services. Nationwide, gold ATMs are now available at 20 strategic locations across 12 regional offices, offering physical gold collection and direct purchases through the Tring! app.

The machines offer gold bars weighing 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 grammes, and have a capacity of about 4,000 grammes.

“We continue to work to provide gold investment services that are easy, safe and reliable, while offering a more practical transaction experience suited to people’s needs in today’s digital era,” he said.

He said PT Pegadaian was still widely known only as a pawnbroker, meaning its gold products were not well understood by the public. Some people still believed digital gold was the same as risky online investment schemes.

“The gold ATM shows that one gramme of digital gold is equivalent to one gramme of physical gold. Customers need to have the Tring app to use the machine,” he said.

Pegadaian hopes customers who have saved through its Gold Savings programme will be able to use the gold ATM when they want to collect the physical gold.

“There is no need for any hassle. Just come here, have the barcode scanned, and the gold comes out, in sizes ranging from 1 to 100 grammes. The gold bars in the gold ATM are products of Galeri 24 and are certified,” he said.
