Pegadaian Holds Mass Circumcision for 500 Children from Underprivileged Families
PT Pegadaian (Persero) organised a Mass Circumcision Programme for 2026. This social initiative provided free, safe, and high-quality healthcare services to 500 children from underprivileged families and communities residing around the Pegadaian Head Office area. Eka Pebriansyah, Director of Network and Operations at PT Pegadaian (Persero), stated that the mass circumcision event is tangible proof that Pegadaian is not solely focused on business, but also consistently strives to improve community welfare, particularly in fulfilling children’s health rights from an early age, as a crucial long-term social investment for the nation’s future. “This mass circumcision is proof of Pegadaian’s ongoing sincere commitment to being present and bringing real benefits to the community. As a company undergoing modern transformation, we want to ensure that strengthening ESG and TJSL aspects is not merely an administrative complement, but a real action that touches the fundamental needs of underprivileged communities,” Eka said in a statement on Tuesday (23/6/2026). “We hope the healthcare services we facilitate can help children grow healthier and happier as they embrace their future,” he added during the event held in the Pegadaian Tower Ballroom on Monday (22/6). This initiative is part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme, focused on improving public health and welfare, especially for children as the nation’s next generation. The mass circumcision event represents Pegadaian’s strong commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, particularly in strengthening the social aspect. By providing inclusive and equitable medical access, Pegadaian actively contributes to supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Number 3, Good Health and Well-being. The event was successfully realised thanks to solid and collaborative synergy between Pegadaian, a team of professional medical personnel, implementing partners, and the local government, particularly Senen District, which provided full support from the preparation stage. Furthermore, the active involvement of expert doctors and nurses ensured that the entire circumcision procedure was conducted with strict, hygienic, and child-friendly medical operational standards. Through this integrated collaboration, Pegadaian not only ensured the event ran safely and smoothly but also sought to create a sustainable positive social impact for the wider community.
