Pegadaian Distributes 913 Sacrificial Animals to Islamic Boarding Schools Nationwide
Pegadaian PT has again distributed sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. This year, the company distributed a total of 913 animals, comprising 212 cattle and 701 goats.
The sacrificial animal aid was distributed evenly through the Head Office, Regional Offices, Area Offices, Branch Offices, as well as through Pegadaian’s partnered ecosystems such as waste banks and assistance to various Islamic boarding schools across Indonesia.
The involvement of Pegadaian’s partnered waste banks in the distribution adds strategic value to strengthen environmental partnerships and local community empowerment in the regions.
Eka Pebriansyah, Director of Network and Operations at PT Pegadaian, stated in a written release on Saturday, 30 May 2026: “This annual sacrificial animal distribution is a company initiative with employees, as a form of gratitude for the company’s positive operational performance, and our commitment to always be present among the community. We hope that through this Eid al-Adha occasion, the trust from Pegadaian personnel will provide equitable food benefits to all those in need, especially in the areas where Pegadaian operates.”
Specifically, the Head Office coordinated the distribution of 65 cattle and 39 goats. The remainder was widely distributed through 12 Regional Offices to ensure the benefits reach beyond the capital city and extend to remote areas across Indonesia.
Eka also noted that all distributed sacrificial animals underwent selection processes to ensure safety and suitability for consumption. Through this programme, Pegadaian aims to strengthen social ties and enhance the company’s social value in line with the Brilian Ways spirit of togetherness.
Previously, Pegadaian’s Rohis (Islamic Religious Affairs Unit) distributed 22 sacrificial animals, projected to yield approximately 4,500 high-quality meat packages. These packages were distributed to eligible recipients, including the needy and local communities, at the Pegadaian Kebon Nanas outlet in Jakarta on Friday, 29 May.
During the Eid al-Adha 1447 H celebration, Pegadaian has implemented its Social Pillar commitment under ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). This initiative represents Pegadaian’s tangible contribution to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger.
By distributing a total of 913 sacrificial animals, Pegadaian strategically targets the delivery of high-quality animal protein-based food to underprivileged communities, the dhuafa, and those living around operational units.
