Pedestrian underpass nearing completion

JAKARTA: The city's builders are about half done with a
pedestrian underpass in front of Kota train station,
beritajakarta.com reported on Tuesday.

"Looking at the progress of construction, and especially
taking into consideration that the work area is an open one, I am
optimistic it will be completed in December, Jakarta Deputy
Governor Fauzi Bowo said.

The Rp 22 billion (about US$2.2 million) underpass project is
expected to make it easier for pedestrians crossing the busy road
in front of the train station. --JP
