Pedestrian tunnel planned for Kota

JAKARTA: The Jakarta administration plans to build a 109-meter
pedestrian tunnel connecting the Kota railway station in West
Jakarta to the Bank Mandiri building across Jl. Pintu Besar
Utama.

"We are organizing the tender process," said City
Transportation Agency Rustam Effendy Sidabutar on Monday.

Rustam said that the development of the tunnel would cost
around Rp 22 billion and would be completed within a year.

"Hopefully, the tunnel will be operational by the middle of
2006," he said. --JP
