The peak return traffic for Eid 2026 began on Tuesday (24/3). On this day, the volume of vehicles returning to Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek) is expected to be greater than during the outbound period.

The Jasamarga Tollroad Command Centre (JMTC) projects that the number of vehicles entering Jabotabek on Tuesday will exceed 285,000, larger than the outbound peak on 18 March 2026 of 270,315 vehicles.

The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri), Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, stated there are three return traffic peaks.

The first return peak will occur on 24 March 2026, with the second and third peaks on 28 and 29 March 2026.

Spokesperson for the Public Relations Task Force of Operation Ketupat 2026, Commissioner Marupa Sagala, urged the public to take advantage of the government’s Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.

“The public is also urged to utilise the Work From Anywhere or WFA policy, so that return journeys can be carried out gradually and not pile up at one time,” said Marupa.

Flexibility in WFA schedules is provided after Eid, namely on 25-27 March 2026.

In addition, the government is providing incentives in the form of toll fee discounts that the public can use to manage their travel.

“Also take advantage of the toll fee discount policy on 26 to 27 March 2026 so that journeys are more efficient and avoid congestion,” he said.

The public can utilise the 30 percent toll discount programme applied during the return period on 26-27 March 2026 on nine Jasa Marga Group toll roads with a continuous journey scheme.

There are also toll discounts applied on several toll roads managed by ASTRA Infra. For the Tangerang-Merak toll road, the discount applies to users making continuous journeys from Merak Gate to Cikupa Gate.

Then, for the Cikopo-Palimanan toll road, the discount applies to road users making continuous journeys from Kalikangkung Gate to Cikampek Utama Gate.

As of Monday (23/3) at 20:00 WIB, the local one-way system stage 2 from KM 390 of the Batang-Semarang Toll to KM 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll is underway. This implementation is situational according to police discretion.
