Peak Return Traffic at Bekasi Terminal Expected to Occur Twice, Note the Dates
Bekasi City Transportation Agency (Dishub) predicts that the peak return traffic for Eid 2026 at Bekasi Terminal will occur in two waves. The first wave is on Tuesday (24 March 2026) and Wednesday (25 March 2026). Meanwhile, the second wave is expected to take place from 27 to 29 March 2026, as school holidays end and work-from-anywhere policies are implemented. “Vehicle types are still dominated by inter-city buses up to now. There has been an increase of around 7 percent from yesterday morning,” said the Head of Transportation Division of Bekasi City Dishub, Fajar Triawan, when confirmed by Kompas.com on Tuesday (24 March 2026). Returning travellers arriving can be seen carrying various belongings, from suitcases and boxes to large carry-on bags, as well as staple goods such as rice and vegetables. Some passengers are seen sitting in the terminal waiting area while awaiting family pickups or onward transport to their respective homes. The flow of passengers who have just alighted from buses or those about to continue their journeys has made the terminal atmosphere busier than the previous day. In addition, several terminal officers are seen on guard at various points to regulate vehicle flow and ensure activities proceed orderly. On the other hand, bus drivers and conductors appear to be preparing for the next trip after disembarking passengers. Based on data displayed at the terminal, on Monday (23 March 2026), 658 passengers were recorded with 204 bus fleets arriving at Bekasi Terminal. Meanwhile, the number of passengers departing for their hometowns reached 1,225 people with 162 bus fleets. With the continuing upward trend, the return traffic at Bekasi Terminal is estimated to continue increasing in the coming days.
