The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General (Police) Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the peak of the second wave of Eid al-Fitr return flow is predicted to occur on Saturday (28/3/2026). To anticipate the vehicle surge, his team is preparing further traffic engineering, ranging from extending the third stage of one-way to the possibility of implementing a national one-way for traffic heading to Jakarta.

Agus said that traffic conditions entering Saturday (28/3/2026) early morning are still relatively controlled, although vehicle movements from the east of Java Island continue to be monitored. They are also maintaining the precision local one-way scheme for the first and second stages. This is implemented to anticipate traffic flow from the Trans-Java Toll Road in the morning to afternoon.

“It is estimated for tomorrow (today). Because tonight’s traffic (Friday 27/3/2026) is also not too high,” Agus said at the Karawang Barat Toll Gate Office, West Java, on Friday night (27/3/2026) WIB.

He explained that since Friday morning (27/3/2026), the Traffic Corps has been carrying out a series of traffic management measures, in line with the National Police Chief’s directives, to maintain smooth return flow. These measures are implemented in an enhanced routine activity pattern (KRYD) to ensure that the returnees’ journeys remain safe and smooth.

Throughout yesterday, the police have twice applied traffic engineering in the form of precision local one-way. The first stage was implemented from KM 132 to KM 70, then continued to the second stage from KM 263 to KM 70 to manage traffic flow from the eastern regions towards Jakarta.

“The first is the precision local one-way first stage from 132, then we extended the second to 263,” Agus said.
