The peak of the return flow is predicted to occur on 2 April 2026, with a projection of 27,009 passengers,” said Pelni Company Secretary Ditto Pappilanda in Jakarta on Monday.
According to him, as of Monday (23/3), total ticket sales for the return flow period have reached 171,438 tickets.
Pelni is ready to welcome the Eid al-Fitr return flow with departures from 23 March to 6 April 2026, providing optimal service to travellers.
He stated that Pelni has prepared anticipatory measures to deliver a comfortable journey together, starting from strengthening coordination with stakeholders, adding service personnel and security staff.
The company also ensures that its fleet is seaworthy for sailing to maintain smooth passenger travel.
He also urged travellers who have not yet obtained tickets to book immediately through the official channels of the state-owned shipping company to avoid the risk of quota exhaustion and unofficial tickets.
In addition, he reminded passengers to always comply with safety protocols on board and maintain cleanliness during the journey.
“We always prioritise passenger safety and comfort by implementing ‘safety first’, ‘zero accident’, and ‘service excellent’,” he said.
He mentioned that if any passengers require assistance during the voyage, the ship’s crew is ready to serve wholeheartedly.
Pelni is committed to maintaining the quality of national sea transportation services that are safe, comfortable, and reliable during the 1447 H Lebaran transport period, both for the outbound and return flows.
Previously, Pelni, as a state-owned enterprise in the shipping services sector, currently operates 25 passenger ships serving 483 routes and calling at 75 ports.
Pelni also serves 30 pioneering ship routes that provide accessibility for population mobility in 3T areas, with pioneering ships calling at 229 ports with a total of 516 routes and 2,515 itineraries.
Pelni also operates 18 rede ships.
For logistics business services, Pelni currently operates eight sea toll routes as well as one special route for livestock ships.
Previously, PT Pelni (Persero) recorded serving 316,000 passengers during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah outbound flow momentum.
That number of passengers is for the departure period from 6 to 22 March 2026.
