National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has asked holidaymakers not to return to Jakarta on Tuesday (24/3). This is to avoid congestion as the peak return flow for Eid al-Fitr occurs today.

Sigit also urged holidaymakers to take advantage of the government’s work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy, which applies from 25-27 March.

“There is a facility from the government, WFA, which can also be used to ease the peak return flow today. So, if there are people who want to choose to return home, they can take advantage of it tomorrow, 25, 26, 27, as I have already conveyed, and I am conveying it again, so that the peak return flow can be dispersed,” said Sigit at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on Tuesday (24/3).

Starting today, Tuesday, the government has officially implemented a national one-way system from KM 414 at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road.

Sigit stated that his side has also prepared other traffic engineering measures, including the use of functional toll roads to ease vehicle density arriving in the Jakarta area.

“We are dividing it so that there is no bottleneck when arriving in the direction of Jakarta. Therefore, there will certainly be the use of functional toll roads and traffic engineering that will be carried out,” he said.

The implementation of this national one-way system was marked by a flag-off ceremony conducted by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo along with Traffic Corps Head Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, and Central Java Governor Ahmad Lutfhi.

“We have just opened this one-way toll road lane as part of efforts to manage the return flow, providing maximum service to the community, easing traffic density, and while still maintaining the safety and comfort of drivers during the journey,” said Pratikno at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on Tuesday.
