Peak Return Flow of AKAP Buses Predicted for 28–29 March
JAKARTA – The peak return flow for Lebaran 2026 passengers on inter-city inter-provincial (AKAP) buses is predicted to occur on 28 and 29 March. The continuous increase in passengers since the start of the week has prompted several terminals in Jakarta to prepare for the largest wave of returnees. Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, personally inspected the return flow conditions at Terminal Kampung Rambutan. During his visit, he engaged in discussions with returnees and officers to ensure optimal service delivery. He revealed that the rise in passenger numbers has been evident since 23 March, with surges reaching approximately 80% compared to regular days. This trend is expected to continue until it peaks in the coming days. “Some of them operate 24 hours. In addition, microtrans services are also on standby on certain routes,” Syafrin stated. Besides Terminal Kampung Rambutan, monitoring is also conducted at six other major terminals, such as the Integrated Terminal Pulo Gebang, Kalideres, Tanjung Priok, Lebak Bulus, Grogol, and Muara Angke. Meanwhile, the Head of Terminal Kampung Rambutan, Revi Zulkarnain, noted that the surge in passenger arrivals has been visible since H+1 Lebaran. In fact, until 12:00 WIB today, the number of arrivals has again increased to 2,501 passengers with 107 AKAP buses. “The majority of arriving passengers come from West Java and Central Java regions,” Syafrin said. “We urge the public to always board and alight in the official terminal areas to maintain safety and collective comfort,” he added.
