Jakarta (ANTARA) - The peak return flow from the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr holiday at the Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal in North Jakarta is predicted to occur this weekend, namely Saturday and Sunday, 28-29 March 2026. “The peak homecoming return is estimated to take place on Saturday and Sunday due to the resumption of school activities,” said the Head of Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal, Sandi, in Jakarta on Thursday. Currently, he said, there has been no significant surge at the terminal because many passengers choose to alight at points before the terminal. According to him, the return flow remains dominated by mudik travellers from Central Java and East Java regions. Meanwhile, in terms of security and services, combined personnel continue to be on standby at various points. “Including health posts and security, to ensure that the mudik travellers’ journeys run safely and smoothly,” Sandi stated. He revealed that on Wednesday (25/3) afternoon, around 250 passengers arrived with 30 buses. “This number is expected to increase in the coming days,” Sandi added. A mudik traveller from Magetan, Yudi (38), said he chose to return earlier because he will soon resume work. He recounted that the journey he took was relatively smooth although there was congestion at several points. “The journey was quite safe and comfortable. Hopefully in the future, facilities and travel information can continue to be improved so that the mudik and return flows become increasingly organised,” Yudi expressed.
