Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho stated that arterial road conditions were sufficiently congested on Saturday (28/3), marking the peak of the second wave of Lebaran return traffic.

Nevertheless, this congestion was successfully managed well by the Traffic Corps personnel.

“Arterial roads are indeed quite congested, but we have managed them well, and the Provincial Police Chief, Regency Police Chiefs, and Traffic Unit Chiefs have all been deployed to manage the arterial routes, particularly the North Coast Road, including the South Coast,” he said at the KM 62 rest area of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Karawang, West Java, on Saturday (28/3) night.

He also revealed that tourist spots were no longer overly crowded with visitors.

Meanwhile, for traffic on the Trans Java toll road, he stated that the congestion could be well managed.

“So, from KM 263 to kilometre 70, and from 70 towards Jakarta, we implemented traffic engineering management with contraflow on lane one from KM 70 to KM 55. Up to tonight, it has been sufficiently well managed,” he said.

The two-star police general emphasised that through the implementation of intensified routine activities (KRYD) following the end of Operasi Ketupat 2026, the Indonesian National Police is present to ensure that the mudik return flow can be well managed.

“The Chief of Police’s order is to carry out this KRYD with full heart, serving the community optimally,” he stated.
